Summary: We had a wonderful experience with Dee. Our tuk-tuk driver took us to a local market and talked to us about the vegetables being sold in the market. He then took us to Dee's home, where she has a lovely covered cooking porch inside her beautiful garden. We each prepared three Khmer dishes. We both chose to start with a green mango salad. My 2nd dish was Samlor ktis. My husband had Amok fish. We had an option for dessert, but since we don't like sweets we chose a vegetable dish for our third dish. I had crispy fried mushrooms and tofu and he had fried morning glory. Dee was a great teacher and we learned a lot about Khmer cooking. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend this tour as a great way to learn about Khmer cooking and culture.

Summary: We did this class in the low season, and it ended up a private session with the 2 of us. The experience included an authentic wet market tour where locals shop daily, a tour of the garden where we picked ingredients to use in our meals, and Dee ensured we were kept hydrated and the food turned out delicious. The meals included a choice of starter, main (including veg options), and a dessert. This was the first chance I had to cook and eat authentic Cambodian food, and I’m glad for the recipes to try again at home. Overall, the experience lasted about 3hrs. Dee was a delightful host and was able to answer many of cultural questions beyond food, which made the experience feel all the more personal.
